Zuilen castle in Oud-Zuilen dates from the middle ages. It was the home of Belle
van Zuijlen, one of the first famous female authors in history. The present building still has some medieval elements,
but it is mainly a 17th century house.
The so-called snake-wall was created in order to grow exotic fruits and other
crops.
